The Hub

The Hub is a secure, centralized web portal designed to give survey participants quick and easy access to surveys, company communications, and contact preferences. Your workforce can access the Hub at workstep.com/hub.

WorkStep partners who customize the Hub experience will visit a unique Hub URL and enter custom credentials. Reach out to your WorkStep account owner to learn more.

WorkStep's Hub Log In

Accessing The Hub is simple, secure, and won't require individuals to remember another complex password.

Standard Log In (Two-Factor Authentication)

  1. Once on the Hub login page, workers will enter the email address or mobile phone number associated with their employment record.
  2. The system will securely verify the details and instantly send a 6-digit verification code to the phone number or email address entered.
  3. The worker will enter the code to access their personalized homepage.

Custom Log In

Depending on your company’s specific setup, workers may be asked to log in using two unique attributes (such as an Employee ID) instead of a mobile number or email. If your company uses this method, users will enter the required details to go straight to their homepage.

Stay Logged In with 'Remember Me'

If accessing The Hub from a trusted personal device, users may check the "Remember Me" box before logging in. This keeps users securely authenticated on their device in order to bypass the log-in screen on future visits.

What’s Available on The Hub?

The homepage is divided into two primary sections: Surveys and Messages.

Surveys

Any open, active surveys will appear right at the top of the  homepage. If multiple surveys are available, the most time-sensitive one will be featured first, with a "Show More" option to view the rest.

  • Time-Sensitive Feedback: Surveys tied to a specific company event or timeframe will remain available until completed or the survey window closes. (e.g. Engagement Surveys, or one-time surveys).
  • Milestone Feedback: Automated surveys sent at defined tenure milestones (e.g., “Day 30 Survey” or “Recurring Employee Feedback Survey”).
  • Always-On Feedback: This continuous feedback option is always accessible in the Hub, allowing participants to share their thoughts whenever needed.

Message Inbox

Directly below the open surveys is a unified inbox containing company communications from the last 180 days. This includes Inform messages as well as direct replies to comments that have been submitted.

  • Easy Tracking: Visual icons clearly differentiate between general company updates and replies to feedback.
  • Unread Indicators: Clear badges show exactly which messages need attention.
  • Organized View: Messages are sorted from newest to oldest, with up to 10 messages per page for easy reading.

Managing Contact Information

To ensure your workforce always receive important company surveys and updates, they'll be able to view and update their contact preferences directly within The Hub.

Keeping Information Current

If the worker hasn't interacted with a survey or message in 90 days, The Hub will automatically show a brief prompt upon log-in asking them to confirm or update their contact details. Participants can also manually update this information at any time by clicking the Profile Icon and selecting Contact Info.

Verifying Updates

To protect their security and prevent accidental changes, updating an email or phone number requires a quick verification step:

  • A temporary verification code will be sent to the new email or phone number.
  • The code must be input within the allotted time to confirm the change.
  • If the code is not entered or verified successfully, contact details will safely revert to their original values.

Individual Preference is the Priority: Once the worker has verify their preferred email or phone number in The Hub, the system will permanently prioritize their chosen contact method for all future WorkStep communications, keeping them in complete control of how they receive updates.
